There’s no better way to celebrate my 50th birthday than together with friends and family. Some of you I haven’t seen in years, and it’s about time to catch up over a weekend in one of my favorite cities in Europe.
I’d like to invite you and your +1 to join us for this celebration weekend. The guest list is strictly friends & family. Kids are welcome.
You will also meet Alexander Borisovich, who joined the family in September 2025 and is looking forward to meet the people that matter most to papa Boris and mama Anna.
The celebration will take place in and around Lisbon on the weekend of 16.05.2026.
Below is a tentative outline of events. All locations and times are still TBC. We’ll confirm as your RSVPs come in. What is confirmed is the weekend, so that everybody can plan their travel arrangements and accommodation.
Our weekend together
Friday 15.05.2026, 20:00, Get together @ Cervejaria Ramiro
We start the celebration by getting together at my favorite seafood place in Lisbon. Ramiro is an institution in town. Despite growing and evolving a lot since I first went there decades ago, the seafood has stayed at the freshest levels and the team never fails in their professionalism and hospitality.
Saturday 16.05.2026, from 09:30, Breakfast @ Liberty
We’ll meet for coffee and a hearty breakfast. The menu is Eastern. You can also pick up a good book in Ukrainian or Russian, especially from foreign agents and other traitors of the murderland.
Saturday 16.05.2026, 11:30, Bus transfer to Praia do Meco
A bus will take us from the breakfast straight to the lunch restaurant on Praia do Meco. The ride is of about 45 mins.
At 18:00 the bus will bring us back to Lisbon and drop us off in a central location TBC.
Saturday 16.05.2026, 13:00, Birthday lunch on the beach @ Bar do Peixe
We’ll celebrate my birthday at Bar do Peixe, on Meco beach. This classic Portuguese seafront restaurant has been on my map for about two decades. After the original burned down a few years ago, Bar do Peixe has been rebuilt with a lot of style, blending modernisation with the the evergreen atmosphere of a Portuguese fish lunch on the beach.
Saturday 16.05.2026, 20:30, Chill out dinner @ Ararate
For those that can’t get enough, or just want to keep going. The menu is Armenian, the food delicious of course.
Dress Code
There is no dress code. Be yourself. This is a family & friends gathering on the beach, in a relaxed athmosphere. May usually is already warm in Lisbon and Praia do Meco.
Practical info
A few practical things:
- Based on your confirmations, the Friday get together, bus transfer and birthday lunch are all covered.
- You will have to take care of travel and accommodation.
- Breakfast on Saturday morning at Liberty and dinner on Saturday evening at Ararat are on you.
- You being there is the best birthday present Boris can get. There is no need for any other present or donation.
- Kids are welcome. If you feel like coming with your kids, feel free. Please reserve a place for them, and let us know if there are any special arrangements we should take.
- The venues selected are all places dear to Boris in Lisbon. The food is delicious, and all of them offer a range of options that should accommodate any special dietary requirements.
